Oh, how you #burn
Like the sun
Scorched across
My midnight sky

How I am awed
By the grace of that smile
Held within a mourning heart

Let me linger
For just a moment
In that warmth

The Candle

Poetry

He is the #candle 
I leave, unburnt 
Resting on my nightstand

The scent has long 
Left an ache in me 
And I dare not inhale 
Too deeply

But should the night 
Grow weary 
Should fear 
Come to rest 
In the furrows 
Of my soul

I know 
There is a light 
On my nightstand 
All the same.
